Important fact about 7th pay commission

  • A Pay Commission is appointed by the government once every 10 years to look at the pay structure of Union and State government employees and pensioners.
  • It was constituted by UPA government in February 2014
  • 7th Pay commission will be effective from 1 January 2016
  • Justice Shri Ashok Kumar Mathur as Chairman (Shri Vivek Rae as full time Member, Dr. Ratin Roy as part time Member and Smt. Meena Agarwal as Secretary.)
